Closed Systems
Agricultural experiments in nutrient cycling, water, feed, greenhouse production, and resilient resource use.
Brief
What it is
The closed-systems work explores duckweed, Azolla, Wolffia, ponds, livestock feed, constructed wetlands, greenhouse production, and ways to turn waste streams back into useful inputs.
It combines small-scale field trials with the mathematical and operational question underneath: what must enter, what must leave, and what can circulate safely?
Milestones
- 01Designed recirculating pond and planted-filtration concepts
- 02Investigated aquatic plants as nutrient recovery and livestock feed
- 03Explored cattle-compatible agrivoltaics and resource-constrained production
