Flock Feed Lab

A chicken feed planning tool that compares ingredient costs, nutritional needs, and missing nutrient data.

Brief

What it is

Flock Feed Lab combines cited poultry nutrition research with ingredient analyses and cost optimization. Growers can compare feeds for different stages, explore home-grown ingredients such as duckweed, pumpkin, and potato, and see nutritional gaps and possible supplements.

The tool keeps uncertain or missing analyses visible. Its formulations are planning estimates whose usefulness depends on the ingredient data and selected bird profile; an exploratory result is not a verified complete feed.

Josh directs the research and product requirements. The implementation is AI-assisted and vibe-coded with coding agents, not evidence of conventional software-engineering credentials.

Milestones

  1. 01Organized cited nutrient profiles by bird purpose and growing stage
  2. 02Connected ingredient analysis, nutrient gaps, and cost comparisons in a browser tool
  3. 03Added progressive fitting that distinguishes known shortfalls from missing data
